My Story

I believe a huge part of creating a successful brand is storytelling. When people know where you came from and where you plan on taking them they’ll identify with your journey and follow you anywhere. This is my story.

I’ve been a graphic designer since 1999, moving through positions like production artist to marketing director and finally, creative director at a little PR agency in Spartanburg. I left the agency life, shortly after entering it. Nine months to be exact. Manipulation, monotony and bureaucracy were killing my passion for creative design and imagery. Thinking it was design I didn’t love, I sought out another profession, but the universe had other plans. I went freelance in 2008. It’s only gotten better since then.

I work hard to remain motivated, transparent and authentic. The partnerships and relationships I build with my clients are some of the most important relationships in my life. I value the time I get to spend with them on their business and the time with them as people.

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

– Leonardo da Vinci

Although my personality is initially quiet and introverted, I enjoy meeting new people. On the flip side of that, I also enjoy cocooning myself in a new project, whether it’s a client project or some pie-in-the-sky vision I had in the middle of the night.

My idea of a good time is curling up with a cup of coffee or a glass of sangria and binge watching one of my favorite series on Netflix. To decompress, husband and I escape a couple times a year to be alone without email or kids or noise. We count the days between getaways.

My tastes are eclectic and my process organic. I don’t put much value on stereotypes or labels. I enjoy watching myself, and others, evolve and change.

As a graphic designer, my work is simple and to the point. I believe that a brand should be efficient and attractive. My portrait photography has been described as ethereal, emotional, raw and honest.

I have my priorities are clear in my mind. I don’t work 24/7 and I don’t expect my clients to either. My clients are the cornerstone of my business. They tell my story along with their own. Each and every one has contributed to the growth of myself as a graphic designer and my business through allowing me to help them grow theirs.
